About Me

It all started with my stand mixer. It was on sale for a ridiculously low price so I bought it, not knowing what I'd do with it. For awhile, I just admired it in my kitchen counter, but soon, a new home combined with a recent engagement , and a serious craving to cook and bake took over.

I gravitate towards simple, classic foods that require few ingredients and can be made by anyone. I am learning as I go and the first time I make something, I like to follow the recipe, but slowly, I am learning how to "read" a recipe and know if it's something I'm going to like or where I can make adjustments. This blog was created as a way for me to chronicle my culinary adventures and it continually challenges me to try new things.

To help me in my cooking journey, I love watching cooking shows and You Tube videos to help understand techniques and get different perspectives.

My Chief Taste Tester is my husband Tim, and my Sous Chef is our puggle, Cooper, who does not ever taste the food, but is always present at my feet in the kitchen.

  5. 1. I had a pug and absolutely love them.
    2. Puggles are just as cute
    3. I saw your twitter update on your stuffed lobster ravioli. How did it turn out? Have you ever tried crab meat dumplings? I was inspired by these famous Shanghai soup dumplings in NYC so I decided to try it myself. I have all the steps written down, but no pics to go with it, but I'll be sure to update on twitter and my site as soon as I get some.
I'm a beginner cook too so feel free to check out my site!
